The brief
Major defence bids bring together engineering, operations, safety, commercial and contractual inputs. Those sections need to answer the customer’s requirements as one response. Repetition, inconsistent terminology and unsupported claims can make a strong solution difficult to assess.
What I wrote and edited
I helped turn technical and operational inputs into clear submissions, working on response structure, executive summaries and editing. I connected the solution to the requirements and supporting evidence while preserving the substance supplied by specialists.
- Response architecture. Organised the submission around the customer’s questions and evaluation requirements.
- Executive summaries. Explained the proposed solution, its relevance and the evidence that supports the case.
- Technical synthesis. Worked across specialist inputs to connect capability with operational and commercial implications.
- Editorial integration. Reviewed consistency, terminology, repetition and the relationship between claims and evidence across the response.
The editorial decisions
Each feature needs a connection to a requirement; each claimed advantage needs evidence. I focused on making those connections visible and the language consistent. This was a contribution within wider bid, technical and commercial teams, whose expertise and approvals remained essential.
